In Order of Appearance: The Women The Men |
Wigandus grew up in the court of Thuringia
in the Holy Roman Empire. He and his best friend, the young
Gottlieb von Eshenbach, spent their youths training to be knights and
dreaming of great deeds in the line of the stories Gottlieb's father
would tell of Parzival. When word came that the French King was summoning knights from all of Christendom to take up a crusade against the Infidel, they rode off together to answer the summons. Unfortunately, Gottlieb fell in on the journey, leaving Wigandus to carry out his friend's dying wish that he become a great knight in the tradition of his father's stories.
